I like to put a light coat of grease on the slide rails and barrel. Otherwise use gun oil or even motor oil.

Can I just get a duracoat put on instead of oiling it?

I have 2 of mine duracoated. They wear just great but if you dont oil them and lub them they will let you know, period. But if you want to dura coat your P-64 for looks and wearing ability you can't go wrong.

There's a guy on the SIG-forum and his signature is "If You Love It Lube It!" and I have to agree with that. I've been doing an extra amount of lubing when going to the range to fire a lot of lead. I saw this first at the SIG-forum. He puts a light coat of grease on the rails and then what he calls floats a light coat of oil on top of the grease. I'll tell ya what, it's a little messy, so don't wear your Sunday best when doing this, but I've never had any malfunctions of the weapons shot when lubing in this fashion, other than oil spitting onto my glasses and shirts. I've done this especially with my old 86 Sigs and the rails are still black, with very little signs of wear.
When I do this with my carry weapon I just wipe the excess off after shooting and holster it. You don't want to lube like this on your carry firearm and immediately holster it, you'll end up with a lot of lube in your holster and on your clothing.

I still grease and oil it. like Manicmechanic I do the rails with gease. lube with oil in other areas. my sure you wipe it down or your clothing and holsters are going to be real annoyed.

I have been using only Rem Oil Wipes for cleaning and lubricating, but I'm not giving advice. I just posted a question about using only the oil wipes and I'm curious to know what others say about not using a solvent.
