My buddy up the streets son, Nick, is in need of some intervention of the highest kind. He originally was diagnosed with mono, but has turned into a blood disorder that has his platelets all messed up. Very low counts resulting in possible internal bleeding without clotting. He's due to get transfusions tonight, so hopefully those will help. I'll try to update as I get info. As always, thanks again for the thoughts and prayers!!

He is in mine and my family's prayers!! How old is this one?

He's 17 I believe.

Got a message from him this morning, his son had his second transfusion last night and his platelets have risen to about 7000, where normal is 150,000-400,000. So it's a start but a long way to go. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers and I'll update again as I get new info.

God is good, all the time! Here's the e-mail I received from Buddy this morning.

"Nick has his bone marrow biopsy yesterday morning and we got the results back at around 3:00. The tests came out good. They started him on steroids after that. They gave him an IV and we were able to come home last night. We are all glad to be home, expessically Nick. His platelets were still only 17,000, but they let him come home anyway. He goes back on Tuesday to see where they are at. They say that the steroids should bring them up.

Again, Kim and I would both like to thank everyone for there support."
