Slide lock ?

Just how do you lock open the slide on one of these ? LOL I haven't taken it to the range yet, just going over it and the slide won't lock open. Am I missing something or does the slide not lock open? Saw the other thread about the slide stop spring, and checked that.

Put an empty mag in it and pull back on the slide
