I'm a sucker for just about any .45 pistol, found another one I just couldn't tun down, it took a while but I finally came home with a 98% Springer GI Champion .45acp. for $350. Bought it off a individual that needed the money to pay bills, I paid his asking price. Its a commander size with a 4" bull barrel. I have a set of "Ziricote"grips from Grip Guys coming for it I just won on ebay. Can't wait to get it to the range. This is not a Mil-Spec Springer, Springfield doesn't currently make a Champion-sized Mil-Spec. Springfield "DID" at one time make a Champion-sized Mil-Spec, but that was several years ago and is not currently available, this SA GI Champion is a 2007 model.

No I didn't, I just wanted to mentioned it...... :P, actually, I put my cousin on it and he bought it, and eventually he will let me have it at the same price or for less depending on his mood at the time, its a family thing. I have a Ruger Mini 14 ranch w/scope and plenty of the original Ruger 20 & 30 round mags, M1 Carbine w/plenty 15 & 30 rd mags and a M1 Garand, that's enough for me, but I'll have to admit, the Bushmaster Stag Arms M2 was a nice one though.

You must be part of the family we weren't sure about, so you are only part NJ French. We'll have to figure out where you fit in and where in the pecking order you go, but I can assure you with unequivocal certainty, I will be next in line for that Bushmaster....... :P. Of course there could have been something going on behind the wood shed I didn't know about... :'(, in that case, since I'm now the monarch of the family, I'll have to make the decision as to your standing, but again, unequivocally, you ain't getting that ~&!#@% Bushmaster before I do ;D

Got my grips from Grip Guys today, they are made from Ziricote wood, which I didn't have a clue about so I googled it and it comes from central and tropical south America, takes a smooth finish, polishes well, and holds screws and nails well, and long used by natives for decorative craft objects; I hope they didn't put a Voodoo spell on my grips. Ziricote is also used for boat decking, turnings, interior joinery, furniture, cabinets and other light construction, but I especially think it makes for some fine 1911 grips.
