:-/
I bid in an on-line auction for two pistols I'd been looking for and had not seen much of lately.
One was a Polish Vanad and the other a Hungarian R61, both being 9x18.
Ended up paying $230 for the Vanad and $172.50 for the R61.
You can see the actual auction pics at the URLs below.

They also had this rare CZ-22 in .380acp misidentified as the far more common CZ-27 in .32acp. But bidders were not fooled. I didn't bid on that one though.

so you can bid and have things shipped to your ffl from them (you don't have to be in Ohio or wherever the auction is?) if so then how do I do it ,
oh wait it doesn't say any more firearms auctions any time soon (earlier it said there would be one today, the 2nd...)

Go here:
http://www.cowanauctions.com/register.asp and register.
Then you can bid. You won't know if you won until the auction is over.
Here:
http://www.cowanauctions.com/upcoming_d ... emId=59158 is an auction for a P-64 & a Spanish S&W copy.
Here:
http://www.cowanauctions.com/past_sales ... 17&String= it says an East German Mak went for $69.00, but the pic is of a Russian commercial one. Serial No. looks E. German though. ???
Today's, 5/2/08 auction starts at lot #1578 as seen on this page:
http://www.cowanauctions.com/past_sales ... 17&String=
How about a Walther P5 for $287.50? :-/
Someone got a "new" PA-63 for $57.50, a 95% Russian military Mak for $230, a CZ-52 for $69.00, and a CZ-75B for $258.75.
Another P-64 went for $115.00 + a DeSantis holster. A Norinco Tokarev went for $69.00 and a Polish one for $92.00.
Another Russian military Mak went for $172.50.
Some of these prices look awfully low to me!

That Vanad is waaay cool! I heard they are hard to get for less than around $450. I heard that one was going for near $800 on E-bay about a year ago. You got a good deal for sure either way ! I like the looks of it and the grip looks comfy. I hope you let us know how it shoots soon ! I think another member or two might have had one also. Its been awhile since I read that post, but it is here on-site, and it has a few links to more info about it. Maybe someone here remembers where it is? Good Luck, and Happy shooting !. G

Those prices are amazing, I just hope the shipping prices are normal.
I will definately be trying my luck on that fall auction.
p.s. how do you see what's in that auction (like the revolver and the p64) when I go to "browse current auction catalogs" it doesn't let me click on it.

Everything from that point on is today's auction. Alternatively, it is page 53 of the catalog.
