Wow Norm, nice job!
How safe do you feel these are to shoot? Headspace, etc.
The ones I have seen quite frankly look beat to shit. I have not picked one up yet because they just don't look safe. Maybe I'm wrong.
Thanks, fritzhund

I was worried about the head space to until I got it , if the bolt ser. No. match it should be fine, the head space on the first one I got was just fine shot it already.

it's the ones that the SER. No. don't match that I worry about then I'd have to buy a bolt head for it
haven't shot this one yet but sure its fine too

Hey Norm,
What's the deal with the cracked stocks? It looks like the one on the other post had half of the forend missing, which may not be so bad if you can get a replacement.
I would worry that "cracked stock" means that the stock is driftwood, or so badly cracked that I would have ordered a better grade.
Are they matching all the time, or do you think you lucked out with a matching bolt?
Thanks. I just got my C&R and am seriously considering one of these as a project.
Thanks, fritzhund

That is a very cool rifle Norm. I've always felt like I'm walking on the edge of a cliff concerning Enfields - one slip and I'm over the side accumulating them and looking for a 2nd gun safe. I'm also scared of K98s.

NB
Enfield's are very addictive they have one of the smoothest and quickest blolt action of any military rifles ever built other than the 30/40 krag

this target I shot 25 yards today with both Enfield's using a hard cast lead 174 grn bullet with 37 grn's of H 335 and no leading of the barrel
this target was shot with the 1941 Enfield at 100 yards with Prvi Partizan .303Brit 150grn
both these rifles shoot better than I do
the one problem I had was the elevation spring in it is week and it would slide off where I place it but I have all kinds of here and I'll will replace it

Norm, That is really a neat rifle pair you have now ! I saw the before/after pics on that first one and was very impressed at what it looked like after you cleaned it up ! Do you, or, Are you going to reload for the .303brit. ? I am wondering about using the .303brit (.311) bullets for the SKS, and the Mosin Nagant rigfles? Have you tried using them in that configuration?
Have fun shooting Them.
Fritzhund, Those are GREAT Questions ! Thanks for ASKING ! I was wondering the same things. I am interested in one also eventually and now ...
Thanks to Norm again for sharing that great head full of knowledge !
That is the kind of info that Helps EVERYONE ! G
