I got my upper in the mail today, so it's as finished as I can afford right now.
Sabre Defense lower with Magpul furniture, Stag upper with factory-installed rails and rear folding sight.
Quite a change from all the milsurp I've bought, but I'm excited to shoot it this weekend.

You will like the sight set-up as it should co-exist with an eotech. I have the rail on mine, sure makes it nice mounting a eo or a scope. Let us know how it shoots dowm the road. And when you can, get wally world remington ammo (223), still only about 7.54 a box.

Very cool, I've wanted one ever since I left the service. I can't wait to hear a range report, I know you are going to love it .

Thanks for the kind words, guys.
I took it out and shot it on my friends land this weekend. Didn't shoot it at any paper, but it hit pretty much everything else I tried to. The recoil surprised me a little since I didn't think it would kick like it did, but it's nothing compared to everything else we had out there. The only failures I had were because one of the cheap crappy used mags I bought won't strip the top round if it's full.
I think I like this thing.

They are neat ! I have some experience with the bushmaster XM-15 . Make sure and keep the gas tube clean or else buy the piston type so you don't have malfunctions as often.
You said it kicked , They have buttstock weights for them that will make it a dream to shoot(not to carry tho). It almost Completely removes , the recoil. So little recoil that I was able to watch the clay pieces explode thru the scope!!! WOW
I was shooting it this weekend and found it to be almost as accurate as my Marlin 60 .22 cal. HAHA i kid.
I was amazed at how accurate it was at the 100 yrd. range. I was shooting at nickel-sized pieces of broken clay targets, and i did NOT MISS. I was not much of an AR-15 fan until saturday. (i have shot it alot!) If they can make them affordable($250) here like they are in other countries, I would DEFINITELY buy one. You have a lifetime rifle there !! Certainly something to be proud of !
