Well 7 weeks after the gunsmith said, "call me in 2 weeks", he actually gave me my re-barreled rifle back!! YEA!!!! :-* :-*

Oh yea...$125 bucks later!! Well now I'm into this "inexpensive" project for about $240... :'(

The good thing is that I think it looks great (now I need to zero it in with the new barrel and sight) and I have a bunch of extra parts that I am going to attempt to sell to offset the cost of this project.

Finished, restored(?) MAS 36... 8-)

Finally look at that barrel...it's huge!!

I got one of those recoil pads...that is really padded so that is why these are in such good shape...raise your hands, drop the rifle and it BOUNCES... ;D

Looks like a pretty good deal for $240. Nice rifle. You'll probably burn up that much in ammo in a week :)

I can't wait for the weekend so I can go play at the range and zero this baby in. It was extremely accurate when it was an 18 1/2 inch barrel I hope it is even better!!

And I am really happy with the way it came out...I could have spent $240 on one easily and have everything match but this was definitely a fun project.

carguy, that turned out to be one fine looking rifle! I think that you will get more than your moneys worth out of it. Its just a neat looking rifle I think. Do you have any strong urges to drop it yet, or do your feet start itching? If this happens to you pm me and I will tell you how to cure it! :)
