Help with Bernardelli Model 80 (.22)

Post by commandercob »

Got this gun as a gift and it feels great to the hand. Similar size to my P-64 so it is a good training pistol. My problem is that the pistol stove-pipes almost every other round. I've tried LOTS of different types of ammo, and its the same ballgame every time.

So, after thouroughly investigating the gun, and with my own un-professional opinion, I've decided that the Mainspring (Hammer spring) is far too heavy for proper blowback operation. I want to disassemble the gun and start taking little bits of length off, but I am worried that if I screw it up that I won't be able to find a new spring.

My question to all is what type of spring is interchangeable with the Bernardelli Model 80 (.22)? Wolff didn't have this model per se, but maybe a PPK or P-64 spring would do the trick? Any info would be great,

It is a great little pistol! Numrich Gun Parts has mainsprings listed for Bernardelli Model 80 at a good price, as well as many other parts. Check here: http://www.gunpartscorp.com/
