There is an auction going on this week in Fairfield, Maine at the Julia Auction House and it is described as one of the largest of it's kind ever.

I just heard about it on the news tonight. The collection owner wanted to sell off and enjoy the fruits of his labor while he was alive. They say he will get around $15 million when this is all said and done.

The collection supposedly has the largest group of confederate firearms ever assembled. It has 3 rifle owed by Annie Oakley they estimate will bring $150,000 each! :'(

I haven't been able to find a link yet but will try later to see what might be listed. There are catalogs for the auction for sale on ebay of all places.

Oh yeah carguy? Just wait until my collection hits the papers ...

Great link. I've bid on collections electronically and always got beaten. Thank God, because only an idiot would bid on a high value item sight unseen.

But to own a Sharps from Jeb Stuart's outfit ....

Pretty cool stuff huh? ;D

I wish I could make some time to go up there tomorrow just to watch and view some of the items. It is only about an hour to 90 minutes north of me.
