Anybody ever hear of a Mitchell shotgun

Post by 1dickhurtz »

Anybody ever hear of a Mitchell shotgun? Not the newer ones (I guess)? It's 12 gauge pump wood stock with Imported from Philippines. Iron sights.

I'm making a deal on this and a Mossberg 500 old wood stock STREET SWEEPER 8 shot.

Only a 20 inch barrel...is it like a coach gun? Thats about the same size isn't it?

For $100 if you can spare it and you're that intrigued by it...buy it. ::)

Norm I agree, for such a murderous weapon it does have some style points.

1dickhurtz,

Once upon at time in the Wild Wild West in days of long ago, they sent a guard with the man driving the stagecoach and the the gun he usually carried was called a coach gun, usually a double bbl shotgun with a shorter bbl than for hunting. Later the term riding shotgun [passenger seat up front] was coined for anyone riding in the front seat opposite the driver and next to the door.

Next class, we'll discus the meaning of a paa-diddle, a term used mostly in the 50's and 60's

Class dismissed.......... ;D

I would grab that for $100 for sure. Nice find. Give us a full report when you see how she works. I may have to keep my eyes open for one of those.

PB, you bring back memories of trips with the family at night when I was young....... us kids in the back yelling paa-diddle!!!

Thanks for that......
