Oh Boy, In trouble again.
Bought an R-61 at the GUN BROKER auction site. Paid way to much for it I'm sure, but no remorse for this guy, it's going to get the same up grades all of my other European hand guns have. Increased power recoil spring and decreased hammer spring weight. I am a very happy camper. ;D

P.S.
Does any one know if there is a handgun buyers anonymous?
I may need to join!

The way to cure what you have is two part:
1. Stop buying....
2. Donate one to someone less fortunate.

Cured.

I just won an R-61 at an auction. Did you find a recoil spring/hammer spring combination that worked for you?

I have the BR-61 witch is the newest one of these guns the PPK springs are to light for it , you need to get the PA-63 springs the recoil spring will be long for the gun but if measure them up cut the new spring one link over then heat the spring up at where you cut it and then press down on it until it collapse cut the large end

My R-61 worked fine with Wolff 95 gr. Military Classic fmj. Proved quite accurate. I tried Barnaul 95 gr. hp but one magazine would jam after I loaded three rounds and the other would accept six if I loaded them very carefully but I noticed that some of the rounds would jam slightly in the chamber so I didn't try to fire any of the Barnaul hp. Cor-Bon 95 gr. hp loaded and chambered just fine but I thought they were too expensive to use for initial testing. No failures of any kind and the recoil seemed to be less than my P-64.
