trigger guard spring

I am sure this has been gone over before but I can't find it. I am having a real problem with my slide going back too far and locking up. A slight bump on the front of the slide will return it to battery. The trigger guard spring seems a little less firm than my other 64's. I have checked everything else that could be causing the problem that I am aware of. (recoil spring little end first) Does a pp/ppk trigger guard spring fit a P-64? I can't find one here at any of the hardware stores or machine shop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A wolf P-64 18# hammer spring is the same dia size spring just cut to length, if want a little stiffer spring go with the 19 #

Thanks Norm, I just happen to have a couple of hammer springs handy. Learn something new all the time, did not know they were the same size.

If you have a vise its not so bad, take a wash cloth fold it in half , put gun and cloth between jaws of vise like in pix
then slowly tighten jaws on vise tell you can push pin in or out
PS . REMOVE GRIPS AND RECOIL SPRING

thanks Norm, I did'nt know if putting it in a vise was a wise decision. Thanks for letting me know that it will not damage my trigger guard. You are a smart man Norm.
