New (surplus 1974) P64 firing first time. 1st 6 rds fine. Fresh mag fired 1st round, the 'round in chamber indicator' extruded about 3/4 inch?? The dealer I got it from just tapped it back in. How is this retained? Any suggestions before I continue with this pistol? Thanks

first did you clean all the Cosmolin out of the gun before you fired it
if not take grips and the slide off sock gun in paint thinner or diesel
fuel for a few hours get a spay can of brake cleaner from a auto parts store
spray down gun then lube it with ever kind of oil you prefer

welcome to the forum.

which way did the indicator protrude? did it stick out into the chamber or out behind the slide?

who was the dealer the only one I know of in the area is SHONA of SSME DEUTSCHE WAFFEN,
if you want bring the gun by the house you should be only 30 min. away and my house isn't hard to find
chances are I can fix it within a hour at no charge
