But I think I can do a better job at illustrating it for you since you took the time to ask. Below will be some photos.

Wow Thanks! You really "Took me to School" Your work is Beautiful. How much to Duracoat a CZ-82? That is my next purchase and I really don't like the coating they put on it.
Chrome has no appeal either, What could you do with a CZ-82, what are my options??

Truth,
I don't always agree with you but you hit the nail on the head here. The finish is about the only weakness that I hear anyone identify on the CZ82. I bet a Duracoat finish like TTH's will look spectacular and be a heck of a lot more durable than that paint job they come with. 8~)

PS...
Those Thumb shelf Panels always crack. I couldn't help but notice the crack in the pics you posted, they really are Brittle. The same place my originals split, from the screw-hole outward....

Truth....

As far as your CZ 82 is concerned I am also looking to buy one and refinish it. I think I have seen the gun at $199 now. My price would be the same $130 including shipping. Your finish options would be a satin black, semi-gloss black, stainless, OD Green, Tan dark earth colors. I will illustrate some of those colors soon. However, I think keeping it simple is nice like semi-gloss black with maybe a stainless trigger or hammer or extractor to have contrast or doing the grips in a dark desert color or just all black. It is up to you. I will also make white dot sights if you would wish that at no extra charge.

TTH
Your Duracoat finish has got to better than the painted finish on the CZ-82
paint stripper will take off the finish on a CZ-82 so i don't think the finish on the CZ-82 is even bake on

I wasa wondering if the Duracoat finish made the pistol slippery in any way--particularly with regards to racking the slide, especially given the heavy duty springs we almost all use in the P-64's and the CZ-52's.

By the way, thanks again for all this information and those pics. This is all very interesting.

I have done 2 P-64's already and will be doing a few more as well as some Makarovs and probably some CZ-82's. As far as the P-64's are concerned there seems to be less friction when racking the slide back and forth. Oil does seem to adhere better on the surfaces. I will have some really cool photos of some P-64's and Makarovs soon.

This is the manufacture of the product.
I don't know anything about grill coatings; Just that this is a firearm finish.
