A light semi-auto has to have substantial recoil if it is powerful enough to be reliable and effective. The answer to handgun recoil is conditioning and strengthening the hand and wrist, and learning technique.

Got here by Gunboards-Makarov forum. Have a Aarsenal Makarov and thinking about adding a p-64. Nice site you have here. Almost ;D as good as the Makarov forum.....at least till I buy a P-64 ;D

I found the forum while searching google for P-64 information. Also thanks to the forum, I learned about the P-83 and PA-63 which I also enjoy very much. Thanks Guys!

Google. After coming across one in person and finding it interesting (I forget if it was a gun show or a local shop), I figured I'd do some research before actually buying.

Google search for "P-64" found the "Unofficial P-64 Resource" page and then followed a link to the forum is the short story. Longer story, I spent weeks searching for the "best pocket Makarov". Narrowed it down to between a P-64 and SMC-918. This board and availability put the P-64 over the top. And here I am, a bit of a regular now.

After the pres election, and surviving one carjack attempt just a block or so from my home, I decided the worn out .22 saturday Night Special I found in my attic 30 years ago was not enough and I needed to buy a decent gun while I still could. As I Googled different brands and calibers trying to decide on what to get, I wondered how someone could be crazy enough to get a gun in an odd foreign size like a 9x18. After more research, I went to a gun show and bought my first 'new' gun - an '84 Bulgarian Makarov in perfect condition. I found this site while I was looking for details on other guns which fired the 9x18 bullet. Since then, I have accumulated a second Bulgarian, 2 P64s, and 1 CZ-82 as well as a couple of 'domestic' guns. I tried aspirin to cool the fever but it didn't work.

I did a google search after I bought my P64.
