, slackone,

I don't know the condition of your P-64, but I assume, which is a dangerous than to do these days that it hasn't been fired that much. I have had five P-64 all together I was able to shoot DA in all of them, however, I will say that in the beginning it was a heavy DA pull, but after around 500 rounds it lightened up on the DA pull and is comfortable for me now without any changes other than different grips, in other words, no spring changes, but again that is just me. The more you shoot your P-64 the lighter the DA pull will get. For some here, they changed their springs and have now gone back to the original springs because of problems the spring change caused, one being a really light SA pull and another the mag/clip falling out, etc, etc, however, others have changed their springs and have not had any problems, so I think it is safe to say, that's why they make different brands of bicycles, different spokes for different folks. It doesn't cost that much to change the springs and to find out what works best for you, happy trails and good shooting.

Ok I'll chime in. I have two P-64's. The 74 with new hammer and recoil springs doesn't launch pencil. The 73 (all original) does launch the the pencil a little. I have never fired the 73. I did notice that with the trigger cocked the pencil launches higher in the 73. I am not a gunsmith but I assume its because of the lighter hammer spring in the 74. Never had any light strikes or any problem for that matter. Its my primy carry gun and I trust it a 100%.
