I don't drink, Lief, Narry a drop for years and years. It was just a humourous attempt at letting everyone know that I'm so tired that I can't make sense anymore. It amazes me how you can't get over anything.
My sign-off had nothing to do with you, and the inferrence that I was drinking rude and uncalled for. You are trying to pick a fight again.
You are just being downright unfriendly. You are unforgiving of some injustice or lack of respect that you believe I owe you. I haven't seen any credentials on you at all, just clip and paste and highly opinionated posts from an anomymous forum member that doesn't even leave an email. Lighten up, won't you. Get a sense of humor and don't take yourself so seriously, for Pete's sake!

You love to refer to me by my name. I don't use my name on my posts but that's Ok, It isn't hidden and anybody can find it because I post a lot of info on various forums. We don't see your name? It seems a bit threatening for you to always post that you know my name, but I've discussed it with the family; you are the only person through the years that refers to me by name and they are Ok so far. Kind of creepy though. As per your suggestion, I'll try to not take it too seriously.

Thanks.....i hope so too!
Not sure why Bzinggg seems a bit short tempered (maybe it's just 'impatient"?)- but any Navy guy or family of Navy is OK with me. To stay off topic, let me say I'm happy as hell that my son is finally home. ELT on the USS Tuscon out of Pearl Harbor - got home June 1 and finally this week we got to go shooting together. And yes, he liked the P64.
I think the funniest thing he said was when he saw a few brand new Berettas in the showcase that he didn't know they ever looked that nice - he thought they came out of the factory all scraped up with 20 years of abuse.
I was Army....I should have known then what I know now. Would have been and might still be a sailor.
Peace,
D.

Sorry if I sounded short-tempered. Rest assured, nothing but an attempt to help was directed at you. It was late the night before last when I saw your origional post, and I tried to cram every fix and tip I could think of that had been decided on that subject in my reply, since there was noone else aboard at that time.
The blah blah blah...incoherrent sign-off later was just me making fun of myself for going on and on. Another member with a past history chimed in with an insult and I did get a little ticked, but it was not directed at you.
I did want to make sure that you knew my recommendation was that the safety be on, not off, if you carry one in the tube. I feel responsible towards people asking advice about what is safe.
I am extremely pro-military service.
Go NAVY!
God Bless,
Frank (bZinggg)

I'm slowly, but surely, getting caught up on all the posts I missed while on vacation. This one and this one
http://p64.proboards67.com/index.cgi?bo ... 1184177650
I feel are very much related.
If your going to be carrying with one in the chamber, you must test with either the pencil or dowel in the barrel for proper firing pin blockage in all modes, decocking, safety on, and safety off. With my 1974 triangle hammered 64, the only times it'll launch the pencil is with safety off, pulling trigger in DA and SA, and fanning hammer with trigger pulled after firing,(prior to reset). The moment it clicks to reset the firing pin will not move while fanning the hammer.
On a side note, good to see you back on D, its been awhile!!

I'm new, so don't think I'm trying to act like a know-it-all, but as to the OPs question.
Round chambered, safety on (hammer de-cocked of course). If something did smack the hammer, doesn't the safety on block the hammer from hitting the firing pin?
I just got mine and haven't really decided what way to carry it, just ordered some springs to work over that triger pull!

Yes it does block out the hammer from contacting the firing pin with safety on.

"Another member with a past history chimed in... "
Will somebody help me here? What the heck is this sensitive man talking about?
Not only sensitive, but continues to call me out by name. I can't continue here, the forum is threatening. Would any of you stand for a Bizarre person calling you by name?

You would think that people should be able to sac up and control things that can be controlled.
Putting little digs in posts that you know will cause grief is just about what I would expect from my children! Acting your age when it comes to respecting each other is never a bad ideal.
For this much knowledge to be wasted on stupid crap like this is just that, CRAP. Get some balls or please just stop posting and pm each other so no one else is subjected to this.
Just my take, Bobby J.
P.S. just remember how everyone felt about Truth!
