GR, I just left the computer, headed toward the garage, when I stopped in the kitchen to give my wife a hug. All she said as I walked away, "What kind of gun did you buy this time?" Sounded like permission to me. Later, I've got to get on Gunbroker, Don

Well, I think the idea behind the HP is that is would spread rather quickly and deposit all the energy in a shallow fashion for a more disabling effect than the FMJ. I'm not sure that the bullet has the velocity to do this in the 9x18 offering, but I damn sure don't want to be shot with it anyway. Under a 100 feet, it probably makes a fairly disruptive wound channel.

I am wondering why you didn't buy the same ammo from AIM at $7.25 @ bx? Not trying to be critical, just curious. Their shipping cost is very reasonable and it's delivered to your door. I notice alot of guys complaining about having trouble finding 9x18 ammo at gun shows, and the stuff is everywhere on the web.

the price was not all that different when shipping and wait time is factored..also the more I buy locally the more the local shops stock.. this has been a big plus for me ..I now have a couple of places stocking ammo, I am also big believer in supporting local business. when we lose the local shops we lose a breeding ground against these stupid laws, so to me that is a good thing especially since I have made a few converts from Bersas and etc to p64s and PA 63s .Down side is I and we spend more time on the range LOL.. al

I have ordered from AIM for a couple years now and have always found them to give great service and their prices are very fair and the shipping cost is also fair, however, I too support my local gun shop and buy as much as I can from them too.

My usual orders from AIM are 500 to 1,000 rounds at a time and on a couple occasions 2,000 rds when they have good deals on ammo, other wise I support my local dealer, if he goes out of business I'm stuck with a 50 mile drive or my local Wally World and here they don't carry much of what I need.

I still go to gun shows and from time to time and sometimes get a table or two, I know a lot of the guys that sell ammo from IN. to FL. and I can get really good deals from them too, so I usually don't have a problem finding the ammo I need at a good price. Last year, I picked up 11 handguns from my local dealer either for cash or trade and sold 3 handguns on consignment of which he got 10% of, and probably spent over $1,000 worth of accessories and ammo, and when I sold 2 handguns over the internet he didn't charge me the $25 FFL fee and when I bought 2 handguns over the internet he didn't charge the $25 fee either. When I walk through the door I get the red carpet treatment as do some of the other guys that are there all the time too. If I go in and they are busy, I am told to just go behind the counter and help myself, or if I just want to look at something to help myself by going behind the counter, I can't do that any place else, so yes, I want to support my local dealer, oh, and I get special deals too, I get calls when someone brings in something on consignment because the owner knows what I am interested in; so I get to see it first. So loosing my local dealer means more than saving a few bucks or having to drive 50 miles one way to find another dealer or have to go to Wally World and not find anything I need. It would be like loosing a friend.

Hey all, got my springs from Wolff already. I'm hoping to test them out this weekend.

Anyhow, I got the 3 spring kit for the hammer and both recoil springs. You can see them in the picture. However, I'm not sure what the extra spring is in the recoil spring back. It is the approximate size of a hammer spring, but it is obviously made about 1/2 as sturdily. I don't think you could use it as a hammer spring.....

Anyone know what the extra spring in the hammer spring bags are?

it is a stiffer, replacement firing pin spring. When you replace the recoil springs with stiffer ones it will cause the slide to move back into battery much faster. The increased speed of the slides forward movement could be transfered into the firing pin when the slide stops moving, causeing the firing pin to travel forward and strike the pimer of the round that was just fed into the chamber...or so they say, so they include a free firing pin spring that is stiffer than factory.

Does anyone know if Wolff is planning to produce magazine springs in order to rebuild magazines? There are certainly a lot of magazines that could use rebuilding.

A lot of really good information here guys, thanks to every one who took time to to reply to the post. A special thanks for the information regarding the firing pin spring from wolf. I too would have been at a loss as to what it was and would have gone about my merry business without a clue as to why my P-64 had decided at times to turn into a full auto machine pistole.
