Bzinggg,
Is that a scope rail or a "cheese grater" type hand guard on top of the 3rd from the top Garrand? I can't tell but it looks interesting.
I wish I had the extra cash I'd be on the phone to SOG already with a handpicked one. Timing is everything isn't it? I'm waiting for the first semester tuition bill as my son is back in college tomorrow.
I guess college comes before an M1... ???...I'm sure college comes before an M1...

... DAMN, college definitely comes before an M1...

SHIP THAT BOY OFF TO THE NAVY AND LET THE VA PAY THAT TUITION! It'd be good for him, good for the Navy, good for you and GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY!

Norm,
I ran the number again and used "99" as the last two digits and I still cake up with 1952. This date is based on Delivery Records. The 1955 barrel is probably a replacement for the original. That is one nice looking Garand!

Good Military stock finish is 1 part real turpentine, and 3 parts boiled linseed oil. Apply sparingly with patch.
Wiggle the front sight and make sure it's tight. If it's loose, you can peen the slots a bit.
