Thanks dfunk the manual is very helpful - I will give it a try this weekend.
In general however, how can I get access to the proboard?
I see many references to it but do not seem to be able to log in.
Thanks again.

Sirrie,
The proboards site was our old location that we recently moved from. It did it's job, but not nearly as well as this one. Registration is closed on it, so consider it dead. All of the content from that site got ported here - every last post. So if you're looking for something there, try searching here and you'll find it.

Well, the Wolff springs (18 lb hammer spring, 20 lb recoil spring) came in yesterday and I swapped them out today. Took all of 15 minutes start to finish (thanks for the photos and instructions). Hardest job was aligning the mag release holes to receive the pin after putting in the new hammer spring. Observation: Neither the Wolff hammer spring nor the recoil spring are nicely beveled flat on the ends like the OE springs, but I oriented the flatter ends of the Wolffs in the same position as the flatter ends of the OE springs.
In dry fire exercises, DA trigger pull
is much improved with the 18lb hammer spring, but it still must be somewhere in the mid-teens to 20 pounds pull. At least I can fire DA with one finger instead of two!

SA feel seems really nice, lighter than with the OE spring but not "hair trigger" like. Should be serviceable.
I'll need to get to the range to see how the recoil spring performs... hopefully later this week if the weather holds.

A question about the trigger. I just installed the 19lb spring and am pleased with the new DA pull. The only remaining problem is the pull isn't very smooth. How can I smooth the trigger pull a bit?

What would be the lightest springs I can put in and still allow the gun to fire properly?

Lots of folks recommend the 18 or 19# Wolff mainspring. I personally use the 17# with excellent results.
