Reloading is VERY easy to start. I started the low$$ way, I bought a Lee Challenger Kit for $52, a 3-Die Carbide Set for the 9mmMak for $30 (can be found for way less, i was anxious so i paid higher, instead of buying online), a $14 box of 100 Sierra 95gr JHP bullets, a $1.65 ,100 pack, of Small pistol primers, a $19 bottle of Bullseye Powder (can be substituted for your choice of powders), a $19 micrometer, and I saved all the 9x18 brass I could find.
Total= under $140 (ALL of this is reusable except for bullets and primers and powder).
It may sound like alot but , I have already saved $$ .
Right off the bat you will get better accuracy than the factory Ammo(which is made so they can be shot in the weakest guns so they won't blow up. And more options. Anything I can do setting at a desk is better for me, because of my back being broke/repaired.
It truly is a fun hobby that lets you fine tune your Ammo to YOUR gun and YOUR comfort level.
Since I started reloading, I have enjoyed every learning minute of it !! Don't let the Start-up price scare you. Other folks like the high $$ equipment ,but, the Lee stuff works fine for me and I have yet to envy over any other brands.
There are certainly more options available when you make your own. You can make nice easy/comfy loads or make hot loads if you dare. Your Choice ,Not the Factory's choice ! I can buy other caliber die sets for around $20, and reload all the bullet sizes that I'd like ,with the same reloading equipment I already own !!!
So far, I have reloaded170 bullets and the start-up cost has almost paid for itself. I can find all the 9mmLuger brass I'd want and then trim it 1mm in length , for free ! Well Worth Doing, methinks ! G
