Brown Bear FMJ is what I use the most. I think of my Silver Bear FMJ as "Sunday-go-to-meeting" ammo.

So far I've shot Wolf, Silver Bear, Brown Bear and S&B without any problems. Brown Bear seems to give off more smoke and smell than the others, but it's usually cheaper. Blazer has been a constant problem. FTL and FTE over and over. I think my P64 doesn't like the aluminum cases. I've had the same problem with my Zastava M70 and Blazer.

Now my CZ-82 and Makarov, I don't feel bad about feeding them Wolf 'til the cows come home (no more Barnaul for me, my roomates have dubbed it 'stank ammo'.
I've fired a fair amount of Wolf in my Maks and P-64s without problems. I have also fired 9x19 and .45ACP Wolf. I can really tell the difference in sound between Wolf and any other ammo in the same pistols -- the Wolf is quieter.

I seem to be the only American Eagle user... It works great in my PA 63. I've shot Wolf and it also works well but the Amer.Eagle is very clean and yes, more expensive.

I use Barnul as of now, however I just read in one of these responses that some one has had trouble with it. I am an avid handloader so I am sure that I will be casting and loading my own as I do for all my other handguns. I have heard before that you can use modified 9mm Luger cases. I am going to check on that right now.

I avoid Wolf like the plague just because the primers are so questionable, I found I often needed second strikes with my P-64 and Feg pistole's. Went to Silver Bear JHP and Brown Bear FMJ and pretty much stick with the Brown Bear for the range. I only have about 350 rounds of Silver Bear left and want to keep it for carry. I agree with Norm that Wolf should be left to the uninitiated, once you have had a problem it's to late to change your mind!

P.S.,
Where are you fellows buying your Silver Bear JHP ammo.?

I bought some from AIM. I can't remember where they are but they charged me 26.00 UPS for a 4lb. box. Still came out to about 10.50 a box. I'm on the weat coast and will try to get it closer. Surplus ammo in WA is where I bought from before at 10.00 a box but they only have the brown bear now.

I don't use WOLF ammo in any of my handguns, not even my Makarov's, I have and will till it runs out shoot it in my Norinco SKS, but not in my '51 Russian SKS, nasty stuff....... :'(, IMO. To answer the Poll Question: What type of ammo do you use more for plinking and fun shooting?, I click on the Czech 95gr S&B FMJ for plinking, for target and PD I use the Hungarian 95gr FMJ MFS +P and the Pollish 95gr FMJ "Vollmantel" Mesco and last but not least Chinese Norinco 95gr FMJ. I do have some Hornady 95gr JHP/XTP I sometimes use in my P-64 carry gun, but I prefer FMJ for penetration out of my 9x18 pistols.

I own a PA-63 and the first brand of ammo I ran through it was the Wolf Military Classic stuff. It stunk a bit and I did have two feeding problems, but for the most part it worked fine. I also tried the S&B, no stink, and no problems. I currently have some Brown Bear. It stinks a bit too but no problems so far with the stuff.
