Well I finally got around to getting the barreled action blued. I used a place in Arizona called Kelso Gunsmithing and I couldn't be more happy with the way it turned out. It has a really nice gloss to it and the bluing is a dark dark blue color when you look at it really close. I bought a cheap scope for it to see how it shoots so I'll be mounting it soon. I got a 44mm objective so are low rings too low? Should I get the mediums? Let me know what everyone thinks of this baby. I started this project in November of 2007 and I'm just now getting it done.

Thanks for the kind words fellas! I know it's definitely not what you expect to see from a custom Mauser. It's definitely different and not exactly something others would choose for themselves, but I went into this project with the idea of doing something completely custom for me. I'll never sell it or anything like that so I wanted to do a build that was exactly what I wanted it to be. It is what it is I guess. I'm really really pleased with it and hope it shoots as good as it looks. I'm going to pick up some Leupold 2 piece base and medium rings for it today. Hopefully the medium height will work for the 44mm objective.

Thanks fellas! I got the scope mounted a few days ago and I'm off work today so I'm heading to the range to get it sighted in. I'll let everyone know how she shoots.
