As for the graphite I'll give a go and let you know. It sounds like a good idea.
Using Google, you'll find graphite. Here's one place:
http://www.segaerosol.com/

Once upon a time they put graphite in motor oil -- fine enough that it would get thru the filter.

Norm......

You remind me of two things my father taught me that I will never forget: Crocus Cloth and powdered graphite.

My father and I were discussing Crocus Cloth just the other night. I read a post somewhere about polishing feed ramps and searched for Crocus Cloth in EVERY hardware store around. I live in a highly populated area and nobody in any store including Lowes and Home Depot new what Crocus Cloth was :o.

I misplaced the 8x10 sheet I bought in the late 1970's.

I still have my original tube of powdered graphite from my Soapbox Derby racer though :D

Does anyone have a strip of Crocus Cloth that they would be willing to part with? I'll supply the postage. I only need a quarter sheet or less.

As for the graphite I'll give a go and let you know. It sounds like a good idea.

Thanks as always, fritzhund
This is funny (odd, not ha ha) but I found a plastic tube with a small almost needle like tube sticking out of the front of it in a box of "stuff" that was my dad's from many years ago...what do you think it is...powdered graphite! I understand my dad used to squirt a little in some locks to keep them functioning. I know graphite but I don't know Crocus Cloth...am I showing my age ???

I just got a pound of crocus cloth (20 sheets) on eBay for $4.00 + $6.00 shipping!

That's more than I will use in a lifetime.

I purchased my first two P-64s yesterday at the Orange County Gun Show in Orlando. Tonight I have to address tight safeties on both of them.

When Crocus Cloth and Graphite are in short supply you can always drop by the local box store any buy a variety pack of automotive sandpaper and a #2 pencil.

The automotive wet dry paper between 320 and 800 grit does a great job for polishing. Using a pencil to apply a thin coat of "pencil lead", graphite it is easy to put the graphite exactly where you want it.

Thanks for the crocus cloth! I had one small piece left. I have about 1/3 tube of powdered grahite that I have had for several years so I am in good shape now!

No problem Dano!

I have to take one of mine apart again. The safety seems to have tightened up again, and I don't know why
