Vanad P-83
After searching the web and many e-mails to dealers who used to have one or some, I posted a WTB on some other forums for a Vanad P-83. A gentleman contacted me with an offer to sell a pair with consecutive serial numbers, one unfired, one fired because he wrote a magazine article about it. Both are in presentation boxes with two mags and cleaning rod with each. His bottom dollar is $700 + shipping for the pair. Does this sound like a reasonable deal? Would anyone be interested in one of them? I really cannot afford the pair at this time. Please post comments as to what you think. I have no idea as to their value in the marketplace. PM or e-mail me if you wish.

I did a brief search for my cost on my new P-83 from makarov.com but I'll have to re-create these numbers from memory:
I think the pistol cost $319, shipping was around $40, and my transfer fee was $15.

I think that is too high. I picked mine up 10 months ago. It depends on the version though. There are 2 types. If you get the special eagle version, it is worth more.
I got combination of the 2 in the photos below.Mine has the side markings of the special eagle version, but not the adjustable sight. THe serrations on mine are more like the standard issue version.
I paid 244 from a web vendor (hoffmeyer) that has since gone out of business, plus shipping (20) and transfer fees (15). I really wanted one though! It came in a presentation box, which was just red/plastic clear cover. I got 2 mags. I got a hold of Dalvar and picked up 2 mags more, a holster and a recoil spring. I think he is out of parts though. The holster is P83 specific, but honestly other than the interior markings it is almost exactly the same as my brown P64 holster, but it is black.

If I buy the pair, have them shipped to my FFL, pay transfer fees, then sell and ship one the cost with shipping is going to be about $400 each.
