new look for my AR

Post by 6x6pinz »

I know it is just another AR, but I wanted something different. I could not believe the quality of these pieces and a direct fit without any modifications. The wood is soooo smooth it feels like plastic.

I prefer my AK's but have a couple of AR's with different uppers. I wanted to see first hand what the accuracy difference was when shooting the same round out of each platform. The AR and AK shooting 545 39 with open sights at 100yds are indistinguishable. In 223 the AR holds a slightly better advantage and in 762 39 the AK wins hands down as it will cycle reliably while my AR's struggle. One fun addition to the AR is the 57 28 round. That little bullet is amazing in the AR platform at 100yds, not so much at 200yds though. I have found the AR to be a fun "plug and play" type of firearm, that is to say anyone can modify it with little to no knowledge about firearms. I think that is what makes it so popular with the general populous.
