Slide stuck

Just bought a P-64, third clip the slide stuck open, hard. The slide stop lever bent in towards the center of the firing pin and stopped the slide from moving forward. How do I tell if the lever is bad? Where can I get one? It moves back and forth (towards and away from the center of the gun) a little when dis-assembled, but doesn't appear bent. Once I cleared it, the slide moves back and forth with no problems. Any suggestions??

What ammo were you using and has the gun been stripped and cleaned?

Brown Bear 95gr, and yes, stripped and cleaned. Still a little cosmoline in nooks and crannies, but nothing major.

Please disregard. Returned the gun (eventually to SOG) through my dealer and they replaced with a little newer one. Took it to the range and it performs like a dream. I am amazed how accurate these things are for such a small and inexpensive gun. Can't wait to get my CCW and a US Gunleather holster.
