I think it turned out pretty good. I did get a bit carried away when I made the slits for the strip of leather to weave in and out to form the loops. However, I made it so there are 3 slits on each side, so now it's just decoration. I decided to go two-tone to mix things up a bit . I think it will serve me well. I could have bought one for the price I made this for, but where's the fun in that? It'll hold 27 cartridges... was supposed to have been 30.

Well done, Junius! I've experienced the same thing before with black dye looking blue in a photo and outside in the sun. I went to Angelus dyes and dip-dye all my black parts and have never looked back.

I have since bought a new strip of leather for the loops. This one is longer and I can actually have all 30 loops with .30-30 Win cartridges. There is still plenty of excess strip in case I change the loop sizes for a bigger cartridge diameter (.243 Win for example). I also finished the edge of the leather with Edge-Kote.
And, here's a slide I made for .38 spl / .357 magnum cartridges. Holds 8.

Junius, I like the idea of a belt much more than a speed loader, excellent job.
