new sights

Post by mpdriver »

Have had two P64's for quite a while, have swapped out the springs, polished the internals, and one of them is my ccw when dressed lightly.Has anyone ever did any work on replacement sights?I'm thinking of having the front dovetailed for a replacement sight and maybe just opening up the rear blade.

You mean to tell me out of all the modifications to these pistols nobody has touched the sights?

The negative of the sights is they are small and a bit diffucult to see.
The positive of the sights is they are small and low profile for carry purposes.
They are surely adequate for the intended purpose of the pistol.
I can't say I'd change mine even if given an option.

No PM's to date.Have a replacement dove-tailed front and rear sight for a Mak,just might have to have a gunsmith friend mill the front.Like i said i could open the rear sight and probably make it work.Pocket pistol or not i need usable sights on my carry pistols,i wish it had sights like a CZ82

Mpdriver,
You were correct on the MMC sights. Wonder if the fixed MMC night sights for the Kahr pistol could be adapted to a P-64? Wish that I still had Pops milling machine. He had a complete metal shop in our old garage. Sgt P.
