changed hammer spring.

Post by donw »

I finally changed my hammer/trigger spring to a Wolfe 20# one.-What a difference from the stock!!

Thanks for the Great tutoral Norm!!!!

I can't wait to take it to the range.Running a 22# Wolf recoil spring too. It tore up my trigger finger after 40 rds.,first time I shot it.,So,can't wait to see what the 20&22 will do. Has the potential of being a nice little high powered CCW gun.

I changed mine to a 20# also. I felt it greatly improved my P64. I also changed the re-coil spring. I had tried a lower hammer spring, (the 18#) but I had light hammer strikes. I was shooting Wolf. I have read that Wolf primeras are a little harder than some of the others. Moving up to the 20# fixed it and it shoots anything I put it through it. I did try a 19# but I got one light strike out of about 20 rounds. Stayed with the 20#. Kinda fun isn't it! :)

It's funny how each pistol has it's own personality.I used the 18lb hammer and no lite strikes or mag drops in 150 rounds.Shot some Barnaul,Fiochhi and Silver bear.
