more comfort grip hold- no banged thumb

Post by ckruger »

I just shot my new p64 with out banging my thumb knuckle, web of my hand or fingers of my off hand. I have small hands. I gripped my P64 lower and angled my thumb down and under the grip rest then cupped my off hand under the mag well not along side the other hand. I only shoot in single action mode any way- it seems to me that if I consider this gun single action only- it serves me well and if I have an extreme emergency I could use the double with out a proublem but why not make the first shoot count any way. Mine is a 1976 model with a triangle hammer. I will shoot for accuracy when I have more ammo and will let you guys know. Good luck , CK

ckruger,

You shoot your P-64 very similar to me. My problem is short fingers and with most larger pistols, I have a difficult time reaching the trigger comfortably. My DA is very difficult to fire with one finger also, but I usually only fire SA anyway, so I am comfortabel with the pistol.

As you have probably read, the Hammer Spring change to a 16# Walther PPK spring will help the Trigger quite a bit in the SA and the most in DA mode. Thanks for the range report and please come often to discuss the pistol!
