Radom P 64 safety catch

Post by chopper »

I bought a P 64 and the first day of shooting at the range the lever broke off the safety. I'm having a hard time finding any, does anyone know of a parts dealer that has them.
I could not find the missing piece of metal that broke off otherwise I'd tig weld it back on. I might have to weld a piece of metal on it and shape it with files and stones then blue it, but I'd rather find the part.
Any help is appreciated, Stan

Welcome to the forum Stan.

Unfortunately the safeties are hard to come by.

Keep an eye on gunbroker someone just sold 20 or so of them over the past 2-3 months for $40 shipped.

They sold out but you never know when they will pop up again.

Thanks Gary, I really like this pistol and 9x18 Makarov is plenty of cartridge to get the job done with well placed shots, as it should be done. It is fun to shoot and I haven't witnessed any unmanagable recoil, but I do practice regular with a S&W J model .38 special with +p loads so I'm probably used to it.
Again thank you , Stan

I still have my first pistol a model 60 J frame and still carry it on occasion.
