Slight problem with my new P-64

Post by KonaCreek »

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all well. :hi:

I was cleaning my P-64 yesterday and when I got the slide back on, I noticed a little hang-up - as in the slide wasn't fully forward. I managed to take a video with my camera, so hopefully I'll be able to link it. If I rack the p-64 and let go, it goes forward, but if I gently let the slide down, it hangs at the last 1/2 in. Just a little pressure of my thumb on the back of the slide will rack it the rest of the way with a loud click. The safety is engaged.

Thanks for any insight/help.

Mines does the same thing. The loud click is the decocker doing it's job in dropping the hammer

Working as designed.

So yours hangs like this?

Here it slams forward when I give it light pressure on the back of the slide - the hammer also goes forward.

As Curly1 stated, looks like it's working as it should be. My P64 is very tight and does the same thing. If I run the slide forward very slowly, it catches the hammer in the last 1/2 inch or so to decock, but closes if I push slightly on the back of the slide. It will not do that when shooting, the safe is off or if you rack it normally.
