Norm, isn't it also the short trigger?
mike, that's how the full legth guide rod works. You shouldn't need to file anything.

Thanks, I was thinking of leaving it anyway.

don't know about the short trigger, never had chance to work on a 1911 made before 1927 , I know the model used in the WW1 had a flat MSH,and I think the 1911 A1 came out in 1927 with the arch MSH, I like the arch MSH fits my hand better , and have change all of mine that didn't have one on it, even change the one on my RIA compact

Yulp, Norm and I are the same page with this, he changed out a couple for me also, I don't care for the flat MSH.
Re: Picked up a new RIA M1911 A1 tody
Perhaps I need to fondle one.....hehe
Re: Picked up a new RIA M1911 A1 tody
Put a Wilson Combat 429BG beavertail on, and bobbed the hammer for now. I ordered the combat hammer today.
Re: Picked up a new RIA M1911 A1 tody
It's finally finished. I put in a Wilson combat grip safety, combat hammer, grips from Dennis, and the full length guide rod.

Thanks, now just got to find time to get to the range.
Re: Picked up a new RIA M1911 A1 tody
Well I put a Wilson Combat match 1 trigger in. But now the grips are going t have to go. I ordered an ambi safety, and a set of double diamonds. The grips are not ambi so they will be coming off. So if anyone is in the market for some nice 1911 grips let me know.
Re: Picked up a new RIA M1911 A1 tody
Now it is finished for sure. Put in the following- new 3-dot sights, full length guide rod, trigger, beavertail, hammer, stainless barrel bushing, and an ambi safety. With the ambi safety, the other grips wouldn't work. I put the factory grips back on for now with a pearce grip insert.

The ambi safety actually was in a RIA Tactical. I did have to file just a little, and replace the sear pin with the extended pin with the slot. Ivan at Advanced Tactical sent me one at no charge.
