.45 Automatics are so commonplace that I wouldn't even worry about carrying one - assuming that one didn’t mind the bulk and weight. I seriously doubt that a DA would make an issue of it.

The 102 series should fall within 1959 manufacture according to this link.

My BIL is on the city PD and when they started carrying the 45 there was an incident where a wack job came at one of the officers with a sharp implement. The story was 1 slug to the guys shoulder and he dropped in his tracks like a sack of potatoes.

Pretty much sums up what I saw in my service. I was very glad to have the 1911 near.
