saands,

I know how you feel about someone offeriing you something, I always feel like that. I didn't mean to sound snotty about the $900 I turned down, I simply don't want to sell it, I haven't found one that is as nice or nicer, and for no more than I have in it, I am done looking. Of all my rifles, this one they will have to pull from my cold dead fingers.

Great looking #4, how did you snag that without me knowing it........ ::) How is the bore, has it been counter bored? If not, do you want your money back..... ;D ;D ;D

I had a Longbranch and Savage #4, but others wanted them more than I did and I sold the both at a show in FL last year, wish I had the US Savage back, all parts were marded with the [S] at lest it was all Savage, but the stock didn't look as nice as yours. What maker and year is yours if I may ask?

No I didn't, is that a web or leather sling. I have both web and leather slings that are dated, the leather slings are 1941 and the web slings are 1942 and 1943 my leather slings have the leather strips to tie the sling with and the web slings have the heavy open keepers on each end. I can't tell from your pic what it is, but I would be interested to see it better. If they are WWII dated I might up my price to buy a tad........ ;D ;D

will get a pic later. it is web. it is weird the loop ends are punched exactly alike on both ends they have a copper like wire that is woven thru(well not woven ) more like threaded but it seems who ever did it did them exactly the same top and bottom.Kinda like that was his or her s job on a line. Just saw something else that is neat about these 303 that I hadnt seen before the peep site has 2 setting one for 200 and one for 600 that rotate into to place, but you and most already know about that stuff.

Norm,

Isn't Vegemite and Marmite a British and Australian food stuff or spread? Also, is your's a Longbranch [Canadian] a lot of the Longbranch's had the groves in the hand guard, but then others did too.

Norm,

The Savage is my favorite of the #4's I guess because it is US made and it looks like you have a really nice one there.

Bobby J. and I have been talking about going to Ybor City in Tampa if I get to come down.........I got to be nuts to go there late at night, but as big as Bobby J. is I'll risk it, but I'd probably do a recon during the day to plan out a escape route.......... ::) ;D ::)
