My p64 is no longer with me!
So went to the range today to shoot my p64 and cz75. Got home and found a crack in the slide under the barrel to the slide race! RIP

out of curiosity, any ideas on what would have caused this? wear and fatigue?
Re: My p64 is no longer with me!
If I had to guess, I'd say worn out springs. Or rounds loaded hotter than the springs could handle. Or maybe just bad metal with this one.ryukotse_yuki wrote:out of curiosity, any ideas on what would have caused this? wear and fatigue?
Hope you save it for parts. That safety that you have on there is extremely hard to find. You may even be able to find a replacement slide for it as they do come up on the online auction every so often.

Wow that is a big one. I would also inspect the trigger guard slide stop for any damage also.

Thanks fr the info! slide stop is A OK, new older p64 has a much stiffer recoil spring and it is disassembled into every component, labeled and bagged in a box!!! A lot of wear on the ejector and upper slide that ay have been causing feeding problems by marring the casings as it loaded.
