Keeping Loaded Magazine / Spring Retention?

Post by Joeinthehills »

I know that modern USA/German magazine are not affected by keeping rounds in the magazines for years, Yes, years.

Does anyone know about the Random magazine springs?

Thank you for your input.

I think the same holds true for these magazine springs as others. Springs are springs. Always loaded OK - always UNloaded - OK. It's the constant loading AND unloading that weakens/wears the springs. My opinion from all I've read. If you've got nothing better to do, look at this:

http://www.navsea.navy.mil/nswc/cardero ... dbook.aspx

It's a comprehensive study of ALL kinds of stuff, including springs, done by the US Navy. Might make your eyes glaze over or might find something of value. Covers other things like valves, solenoids, etc. Just look at the springs section.
