With the amount of folks owning P-64's and PA-63's has anyone considered petitioning Mec-Gar to do a run of +1 magazines?

I was looking at my stock 6-shot mags and it wouldn't take Einstein to redesign it for 7 rounds. If this were reliable the P-64's would be a potential 8-shooter, what a carry piece...thoughts?

The market for P-64 mags is small but you can contact Mecgar and tell them what you want.
If they're interested they will give you a price for a run of magazines. The price will include design and tooling. The more they make the cheaper they will be.
Then come up with the finances to have them produced and a way to market them all.

Why wouldn't they market them if they're interested?

It's very unlikely the market is big enough to make it worthwhile.
There are manufacturers out there that will make anything you desire if you're willing to pay the price.
There is an aftermarket copy of the factory magazine out there already.....they should have made it 7 rounds.
An easier way to your 7 round mag would be a modified magazine base and follower.
Stock mags have been modified to take 7 rounds but the follower and spring needs to be shortened. It doesn't work too well. A modified base with a bit more room would probably do the trick.

That's another thought, mag modifications. There's companies that do that no?

I'll fire off a few letters and see. Worst case scenario is I hear nothing.

kilogulf59, we all wish you luck, a seven round mag would be a great addition.

I'd be up for a few if they weren't too expensive!

Hope this isn't too dumb of a question, but are the mags for the P-64 and PA-63 the same?

The PA-63 and P-64 magazines are different. They are not interchangeable.

What about modifying a makarov mag with a slip-on base pad? Especially for a spare mag, 8 rounds would be cool.

kilogulf59 have you heard anything yet about modified mags? if not some of us could just design one on a 3D cad program and just get an order put through via an outside machine and fabrication shop, just a thought might work with Wolf on this one too.
