Racking the slide with the safety on?

Post by seldon14 »

It seems a lot of the time when I rack the slide with the safety on it won't go all the way forward and needs a push to fully seat. Is this normal? Can I do something to fix this? Am I even suppose to rack the slide with the safety on?

I do all the time as I carry with one in the chamber and safety on. If you gently let the slide back it does take that extra push. If you let it fly, it's fine. My Stoeger Cougar is the same way and it's a new gun. I wouldn't worry about it unless someone else here has a horror story about it.

happens with mine also. I try not to rack it that often with the safety on just for good measure.

Mine used to do the same but stopped after a couple range trips.

Like Stover mine also did this same thing but stopped after a couple boxes of Brown Bear.
I carry a gun, because a cop is too heavy
