I'm new to the Forum and collect Eastern European (Warsaw Pact) firearms....I have a CZ Duo, CZ-52, CZ-70, PA-63, and A Bulgie Makarov (carry that as an off-duty weapon and actually carried it for two months as my duty weapon while my HK USP45C was in the shop for several months.). My only Pole is a 1954 Tokarev which I use for Red Army reenacting....I have the original Polish grips for her, though. Also have numerous Warsaw Pact long guns. My other, newer vice is Spanish steel. I hang out on the Spanish forum as "Cwjarhead". I will be getting a P64 very soon. I enjoy taking clunkers guns, reworking and refinishing them and I swear by Duracoat.....Glad to be hanging out here.....Bill Gibbs

I am new to this website, and this is my first post. I have had guns for over 50 years now. Recently, mostly out of curiosity, I ordered a couple of P-64's from J&G. When they arrived, they looked very nice, but they did have that atrocious double-action trigger that I'd been warned about. New Wolff springs improved the trigger pull considerably. Then I ordered a Galco PH204 pocket holster. The PH204 is for the Walther PPK, but fits the P-64 nicely. After carrying in my front pocket for a few days, I decided that the finger rest on the magazine absolutely HAD to go. It was really causing the gun to print. A little sawing, a little sanding, and a little touch-up with a magic marker, gave the magazine a whole new shape and appearance. I think this might become a regular carry gun for me. Previously, I opted for either a Kel-Tec 32 or S&W 642, but I'm always ready to try something new and different.
A few years back, I owned a Walther PPK/S. It was a good-looking gun, but I never did like it. The slide liked to cut the web of my hand, and the safety was difficult to operate. Looks aside, I like the P-64 way better than the Walther.

Hello, I am a new member to the forum. I am a long time milsurp collector (03-FFL) and shooter and have always been a big fan of 9x18 handguns. Its good to be on board. I am a contributor to several firearms forums including the surplusrifle.com forum and Defensivecarry.com forum. I am an NRA life member, Single Action Shooter (SASS member) and life long hunter and traditional bow shooter/hunter. I just ordered a P64 from J&G to add to my collection. Its good to have this resourse and I hope to be able to contribute to the community.

New to the site, new to P-64. Just got mine from J&Gsales dot com - $159 +$10 hand select to get the triangular hammer, +22 shipping, + $20 FFL Transfer = WHO GIVES A PHUC, I got me a p-64! When I first saw the pistol at my FFL I was a bit disappointed, did not appear to be as flawless as others have shown from J&G, but once I got close and personal with it, cleaned off all the crap, I realized I had a little-used, often-carried P-64 with a like new {if not teeny tiny} bore, clean as heck (after a quick swab with brass brush and hoppes 9).

The initial DA is tough, as described my all, but certainly no chance of an accidental discharge. I imagine a full magazine would be a safe carry, if need be , a quick click of the slide and pull on the hammer and one is ready for the ever-so-sweet Single action! The finish on the outside of the slide is literally as smooth as silk! I have the 22 lb recoil spring and 17 and 19 lb trigger springs, but will try it in its original configuration before swapping springs.

Rang report and pics to come on March 16.

Hi. I just recently joined the forum after reading nearly every thread here and then picking up my first P-64. Prior to that I read all the threads on the Tokarev forum and then purchased a Tok! I was so happy with the Tok and became interested in the P-64 on the J&G sales paper. Well, now I'm hooked. I applied for my C&R license a few weeks back and will take on at least one more Tok and one more P-64, oh yeah and a Mosin-Nagant and maybe a Schmidt-Rubin K31, and .... I inherited a 1911 Schmidt-Rubin from my grandfather as my first deer rifle and I guess that really first spurred my interest in milsurp.

I'm a native of Louisiana (Shreveport and Kisatchie), B.S. '69 Northwestern State U.(of LA), and M.S. '74 from LSU, both in Wildlife Biology. Retired (30 Years, 2004) from NC Wildlife Resources Commission. Served as Wildlife Tech, Wild.Biol., Furbearer Research Specialist, and Chief of NC Endangered Species Program. Currently work part time as High School Substitute teacher (great money to buy guns with).

I have hunted since I was 5 years old; squirrels, deer, ducks, doves, quail, etc. I really love to shoot my Schmidt-Rubin and recently purchased a large supply of the milsurp ammo. That's when I learned about all the other economical and great milsurps. I have had a NC CCW license for about 5 months, since the elections.

My previous (pre P-64) CCW was a Kel-tec P3AT .380 (couldn't get a Ruger LCP) in a CTD.com pocket holster $5, great. Love the K-T. But, now after a couple 100 rounds with the P-64, I will change to it, although it won't fit my pocket. My P-64 was from J&G and was in VG+ condition.

I also have Taurus PT111 9MM, and PT24/7 in .45 cal., Bond derringer 38/.357 and .45LC/410 BBLs, Argentine Comanche .45/410, Ruger single six .22/.22mag., and an assortment of commercial long guns.

Good morning everyone. I am originally from the midwest, Kansas City, Ks. I first became interested in shooting while attending college in the late 60's. I spent several years in the USAF and did two consequetive tours in Southeast Asia.
After leaving the Air Force, I worked in the Peoples Republic of California for almost thirty years as a retail store manager and assistant manager.
My son and daughter-in-law live here in Ogden, Ut and convinced me to move out here in August of last year. It feels great to be back in real the real America. I now work part-time and am semi-retired.
About two months ago, I decided it was time to get back into recreational shooting and gun collecting. My first purchase was a Taurus 24/7 Pro DS in 40S&W. While at the local indoor range testing my new Taurus, I noticed a P64 sitting in the display case and that was my first introduction to this little guy. Needless to say, I bought it.
Shortly thereafter, I found this website and here I am. I am hoping to get at least one more P64 before they are gone. I am also looking at other 9x18s as the budget allows.

I joined the "unofficial resource" today (June 7th)

I stumbled on the site last week when researching a handgun (P64) I had recently found in a catalog.

The price peaked my curiosity - but I assumed, if price was an indicator, the P64 must be junk. I started combing the web attempting to find some specific info. About an hour or two later I order one.

Looking forward to taking it to the range.

Fellow gunners, hello. I joined tonight, but have been reading this forum for a few months. Like many of you here, I'm retired Navy (24 years) and have owned and collected guns since 1973, started shooting in the mid 60s. Originally from Philly now residing in sunny, hot Florida. My first 2 guns were a Ruger 10/22 (I still have it) and a Ruger 22 auto pistol which was stolen from a household goods shipment years ago. Other guns include Taurus PT58, Firestorm 45, Bersa Thunder 380, Saiga 223, Wasr-10. My Maks include two CZ82s, Radom P64 (from centerfiresystems.com) and a Bulgarian Makarov. I have a C&R license and of course an NRA membership. Did I mention I've been riding motorcycles as long as I've been a gun collector?
