Re: FTF on first shot in full magazine
It's not the "People would snatch them up, why aren't you making them?" that's bugging me. It's "You're already making recoil and hammer and firing pin springs. Why not mag springs and trigger springs as well?" At least trigger springs aren't that hard to find and even available...

Re: FTF on first shot in full magazine
I'm gonna write Keepshooting, ask if they wouldn't consider selling the springs separately. After this exchange yesterday, I wrote Wolff again and reasoned with them. I said I belonged to a P64 pistol forum and one of the more common complaints was lack of availability of replacement mag springs. I...

Re: FTF on first shot in full magazine
Mag springs are the thing I keep coming back to. I've also emailed Wolff and asked why they don't, and the response was "We don't know, but we'll get back to you as soon as we do". I think more of us need to bug them about it. That's pretty much what I got back in the email when I asked t...

Re: FTF on first shot in full magazine
Maybe because the mag springs have gotten weaker with use? Man, I wish Wolff would offer P64 mag springs. They off all kinds of other stuff and it seems there are thousands of P64s around, Wonder why they don't make some?gman68w wrote: Why did this issue only crop up after a year of use?

Re: Has anyone else received a P64 with a lightend DA trigge
No, and I've refurbished 9 P64s altogether. In my experience, the OEM spring was darker (almost black) and thicker wire while the new (assuming Wolff) springs were lighter (silver/grey) color and of thinner gauge wire.

Re: Not returning to battery
I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to chamber it with the safety on. Should the hammer fall while racking the slide, you will get an AD. The safety will drop the hammer but block it from striking the firing pin. Well, I guess because it doesn't work and also, apparently, keeps it from returning ful...

Re: FTF on first shot in full magazine
For what it's worth, I bought a sample pack of Wolff springs to play with. I, too, noticed some different dimensions between the springs. I thought that was odd. :? Seems dimensionally they'd be the same only made of different stoutness of wire. Oh well, live and learn but yes, the different springs...

Re: FTF on first shot in full magazine
Based on what you describe, the recoil spring you have may be too stiff for the ammo you are using. That's what crossed my mind. What recoil spring is in the gun, the original or heavier? I had that same thought the heavier recoil spring(s) would snap the slide forward faster and catch the round mi...

Re: Using Makarov mag springs as replacements?
I'm not sure what you're referring to but I got some 9 Mak springs from Wolff and they were YUGE! No way they coulda been cut down. They were too wide and too long (front to back). Sent 'em back for credit. I think BERSA "Thunder" 380 mag springs were mentioned as they are fairly close but...

Re: Another new P64 owner...
I'm planning to use this for open carry (I'm in Texas), so I'm in search of a holster that I like. Look in the 'holsters' sub-forum. Mr. Funk, the "owner" of this forum makes some beautiful holsters and reasonably priced. I'm sure he'd be able to fix you up with a "Lone Star worthy&q...

Re: re-installing plastic grips...
Russ's grips are very nice, but, after handling the gun, I like the way the original grip fits my hand, since, although my hands are large, they are not "beefy." The plain, checkered, plastic grips fit me perfectly. Looks like the slide will clear easily with the way I naturally grip it. ...

Re: Not returning to battery
It happens either way - putting in a magazine or letting the slide run forward. If the safety is engaged it's like something is rubbing against the slide causing it to not fully return to battery. I usually keep my safety on and if I load a magazine and pull back the slide it always causes a jam. Y...

I've had difficulties at times but did no modifications. I played with it until the panel fit but I know the frustration of which you speak.mikethedruid wrote:After removing the original plastic grips from my P-64, I had real trouble replacing the right hand grip ... Re: P 64 safety
Over the rainbow! I think the safety assembly (not just a lever) is the most sought after part and most difficult to find. You might check 'Gunbroker' as they come up once in a while but go FAST! Someone else may have alternatives but that is the most likely source. Sorry.
