Re: Centerfire Trainer

Glad to hear you got a deal. It may not have been a mistake. Every once in a while they do have really good deals with short time frames.... The trainers for the most part as you noted do have functional parts with some removed or altered. So it would be a good idea to strip it and check the conditi...

Re: P-64 Trigger Guard

Also check around on eBay. None there now but sometimes people put P-64 parts up. Don't limit your search, sometimes people will just list a parts lot that has exactly what you need. They don't have them now but Apex, Numrich, and other parts venders have carried P-64 parts in the past, so it's good...

Re: Slide lock/ejector broke!

Pulled slide off and see that the slide lock was broke clean off, slide still locks back but ejector end is gone about 1/3 of the end? Could you please post pictures of the broken part/s so that we can all see what you are talking about. I looked around the normal sites I'd check (gunbroker, ebay, ...

Re: Where can I get parts?

I think what he is saying is that he believes the Disconnetor is not fitted properly. Thereby preventing the Trigger Bar from proper operation in DA mode. If this is the case he should check the Trigger Return Spring before assuming it's the Disconnector. Trigger Return Springs are sold here by Norm...

Re: Affect of lighter hammer spring on mag release?

Yes. Generally, we have found that the 17lb Hammer Spring is too light and causes issues in either light strikes or magazine retention. The sweet spot is the 18lb to 20lb springs hence why they are sold in a pak of three so yo can adjust as needed. Also they do cause hair triggers in SA so some peop...

Re: P83 decocker issue

Well unless you are willing to spend the time figuring it out, I highly suggest you take it to a Gunsmith. As you see in the other threads it could be anything from a bad Frame, Safety, Disconnector, Sear, Trigger Bar, Hammer, etc., etc. Or something could just be mis-aligned and/or binding. So unle...

Re: P83 decocker issue

The P-83 does not have a Decocker. So I don't think anyone is going to understand your problem: "the decoker not being able to move the safety". The Safety blocks the Firing Pin, as it engages the Disconnector, that disengages the Sear, allowing the Hammer to fall safely. There is NO separ...

Re: P64 safeties available

That seller has been selling a few. Most previous auction show that many people just accept his asking price. But there have been a few were he has accepted offers. I start low and work up for the best deal... On a Safety the norm used to be $35 tops...

Re: Safety broke, bought eBay CNC replacements

How prone to breakage is the safety on these guns? Seems like a lot of folks are wanting to have spares The main issue is availability of the part. I have never encountered a break of my Safety. However if you search the Forum you'll find that every few months someone will come on reporting that th...

You might also consider replacing the Extractor Spring with a lighter one from a comparable pistol. The Extractor on these are a beast. Save the original spring so you can swap it back in if needed.

Re: New guy here with questions....

So I bought one of these at a gun show, and I like it, shot great until the last round. Upon firing the last round the slide shot off. What causes this? I'm thinking it's a magazine issue, but I want to be certain before I go modifying, or ordering new ones, and yes it was inspected, and cleaned be...

Re: United Defense Mags.

I received my P64 mags. I have yet to try them out. They look identical in shape and form to the 3 original P64 mags I have. I will keep everyone posted after I give them a go. They will work fine most likely. The biggest issue is that the box metal would warp out of shape over time and use, especi...

Re: Slide stuck open

Old thread, I know. Got here because my P-64 experienced a similar problem today after about 50 rounds of Fiocchi ammo. Slide was locked back tight, so tight it felt like it was welded open. Like zark said, when I got it home I could see that the slide stop had somehow gotten lodged on the bolt fac...
