Re: FMJ or HP in 9x18?
Dalek, please give us a range report on those Buffalo Bore 115gr hard casts! I have been wondering about those for winter use in my CZ82 and P-64 but cannot find anyone who has fired them. Inquiring minds want to know!

Re: Good read on stopping power
I agree with Curly1, shot placement is all important, but a solid hit with a larger caliber, heavier bullet beats smaller and lighter every time i think. However, I also believe any gun with you is better than no gun!

Re: My PA-63 and recoil, am I weird?
Go red wings! No rwing, you are not wierd as I myself do not find either the P-64 nor the PA-63 to have excessive recoil. I guess it's like all in who you are and what your perception of "excessive" is. By the way, I too love the Wings.

Re: Book on Wound Trauma in Handguns
I own and have read the last 2 books in a 3 book series by Evan Marshall and Ed Sanow called Stopping Power (2 books) and Street Stoppers. Excellent books, veeery informative, very well written with multiple did and did not work scenarios where actual loads were used in gunfights. They do cover the ...

Re: Finally got to the range
Bear, glad you had a good range session. I prefer to have the front sight red and the rear in green. The color difference makes it easy to realize which is actually the front sight. I know this sounds funny but if the front and the rear are the same color it is not a far stretch to confuse the front...

Re: How to choose hammer spring strength?
I replaced my stock spring with the 17# spring. The SA did get a little bit lighter, but that only made it better in my opinion. Lots of lead downrange since the change and no failures to ignite from light hits and no problems with mags dropping. I will stick with my 17# spring.

Welcome to the brotherhood bear34. I think you will find that respect for others is very important here, as well as the high degree of knowledge and experience amongst the membership. I trust only an extremely select few when it comes to their weapons skills and or abilities, so I understand exactly...

Re: Bought a P-64. Best place to Buy Magazines?
I bought 2 mags from SOG, they were the real deal (serial number engraved), they were in as good if not better condition than the one that came with my P-64 and have so far proven reliable. And shipping was reasonable although I cannot remember the exact figure. I think they have a good deal on mags...

Re: PA 63 recoil compared to P 64
I have shot both, currently own a P-64 and used to own a PA-63. recoil is about the same due to the PA-63's lighter aluminum frame, but the PA-63 is a little easier to handle because it has a slightly longer grip and it's a bit wider in the grip. I think that the recoil in either one is not bad at a...

Re: Any one us Hornady XTP 95 gr HP 9x 18
I have been using Hornady XTP's in all my 9x18 pistols (3) for the last 8-9 years and I think they are great. Cycle well and expand well, at least when shot into water jugs. I carry them exclusively in my 9x18 CCW weapons.
