Jbabbler,
It is always nice when you get a pristine P-64. So what do you use to break in the pistol for makarov ammo? Will this be your new carry pistol or do you swap out this 2nd P-64 with your first one? Excellent photos too!

Possible Reason for Shot Placement
Papabear, we taught basic marksmanship principles for years and we had a similar tool like your wheel. The best recipe for sucess is practice, practice and more practice. Thanks for sharing this with us as it brought back some memories of our principles that we all grew to utilize when training all ...

I have both the triangle style hammer and the round hammer. They both shoot equally well. As far as machining goes I believe all years the P-64 was in mfg, their quality control was superb. Mine are superb pocket pistols and that is the reason that I bought them. ;) Having both side by side, there i...

Protector, Another 2 reasons that I forgot to include in my PM was to keep your eye/eyes focused on the target. Good sight picture is important along with sight alignment. Took me many years to learn how to keep both eyes open. Used to explain to my students to keep one eye on the target and the 2nd...

Super nice IMEZ IJ70 makarov. I bought my military Soviet makarov thru a private collector about 10 years ago for my wife. I bet the prices have come down a little since then. Its a keeper and we have only shot it about 50 times since we got it. Coolest thing with the Soviet camouflage jackets that ...

Wow,
Just used it to track my grips. It works if you just punch in your 5 digit zip code, put the cursor over the "search" button and hit "enter".

DGPoston, Nothing wrong with the Don Hume belt holster for the P64. That is a decent price for that holster. ;) I have an older model IWB holster that Dick made way back. Never had a problem with it and it does what it is supposed to do: carry my P64 pistol. :) It is custom made and a great design. ...

RR,
Sorry b'out that. When I used to deal with Century when they brought in all the East German Malarovs they had tons of 9 X 18 ammo. I'd buy 2-3 cases at a time, as all the guys had Makarov pistols. Now it is lucky that you can find 4-5 boxes from them.

Yeah Century Arms has the 1,260 rd 7.62 X 25 mm tokarov ammo in cases. I'd like a case of 5.45 X 39 Polish ball. All they have now is the corrosive 1980s mfg Ukraine rounds.

HCKeith,
Nice group. What distance were you shooting from? 25 meters?
The P64s do shoot well. I let a buddy try mine out and he was so impressed with the pistols accuracy that he ordered one from a local gun shop.

Irishbob979, Perhaps you could do a poll and see which type of hammers do many of the members own. I have one of each hammer so I would opt for one firing pin of each lenght, 45.85 mm and 47.08 mm. Man I wish that my Polish military friend had come thru, but he is back serving his country in Afghani...

jebib3, I carry my P-64 in an old Uncle Mikes pocket holster that I got when I carried a Walther PPK .380 and the product # 7844-2 should work out well for you. I did take it to a leather shop and had a velcro pad sewn on the outside. As we wear a lot of shorts here due to the hot weather, I had the...
