Re: 1974 P 64
+1 on the Polish Iron grips. They are the best, and at a reasonable price.

Re: 1974 P 64
I finally went with a 20# recoil spring after some experimentation (I bought the three spring kit). It all depends on the balance of what your gun likes and what you like. YMMV. Have fun!

Re: New guy from PA
Also try the Polish Iron grip described in viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6186 That and a 20# Wolff recoil spring did the trick for me - I can go 100+ rounds with no ill effects.

Which is what they did with mine. They must pay the folks that put them into the boxes and tape them quite handsomely.Curly1 wrote:Yes pretty ridiculous when you can pop several mags into a small priority box for 1/2 the price and ship anywhere in the CONUS.

Re: Surplus P64 9x18 6rnd magazine
Try compressing the feed lips at the top of the mag slightly. That may help. Got that from a Makarov forum addressing the same thing.

Re: Failures to feed
I just routinely load five rounds. No FTF since I started doing that.after about 700 rounds. I mean, my P64 is 50 +years old. I don't expect perfection. Makes sense. I may try to use only 5 rounds in the mag and see if that works. Definitely trying different ammo too. I really want to load six thou...

Welcome! I've found that for cleaning and degreasing, WD-40 is your new best friend.

Re: Review (kinda) of KeepShooting P64 Mags
Not only did the lips on mine spread, but there are now three dents at the rear of the mag corresponding to the position of loaded rounds and the bottom plate is loose. This is after firing two 5-round loads of Red Army Standard. With a 20# Wolff spring installed in the P64. Total junk from start to...

Have you tried loading five rounds instead of six?

Re: Jamming problem
I also had the jamming problem described above. I clean my P64 after each session, so that wasn't it. I changed the recoil spring out to a Wolff 20# - helped with the recoil, but no joy. I then dropped back to loading five rounds, and some success. Then I read an OP's post about not slamming the mag...

Re: Review (kinda) of KeepShooting P64 Mags
I put about 25 rounds through my newly-bought KS mag on Tuesday, and finally gave up on it due to failure to feed problems one or two shots into a full mag. I believe that the mag lips had spread slightly, but I need to get the calipers out and see. No problems with either of the OEM mags supplied w...

Will you keep the V 0.5 grip available for those of us who are content with it and don't want to remove and replace "the works"?
