p-64 firing pin

Wish I could find a reasonable FFL a little closer to home. I checked a few place and they all wanted 75 bucks. The place where I grew up is only 25 but 2 hours away. Brock- Gunbroker has a neat service on their website they call "dealer network." Just type in your zipcode and a listing c...

TTC-33 recall from Aim

Just a heads up... Taken from the Aim website: Urgent Safety Recall Notice! Romanian Tokarev TT33-C Pistols purchased since October 2009 and Imported by I.O. Inc. (Inter Ordnance). Some of these pistols have defective safety devices and SHOULD NOT BE FIRED. I.O. Inc. has established a recall system....

At this date, with 110 views to the thread, you were the 1st member who pulled the slide to look and offer any feedback. Thanks again. http://www.p64resource....

ammo for home protection?

ammo for the range is not ammo for home protection, right? jeb- I'm of the opinion that it's very important to practice with the same ammo at the range that I'd use for self defense. I want flawless performance at the range with the same ammo and firearm that my (and my loved ones) life is depending...

Common problem?

A question posted on another forum got me to thinking... Is this wear at about the 10 o'clock area of the chamber normal? I'm guessing steel cased ammo is the cause. When the shell is extracted and turns 90 deg. to eject, the lip on the casing drags slightly in this area? Your opinions or theory is ...

MY FIRST P64

Paddy- Welcome to the forum. Beautiful pistol for a great price. The 20lb. recoil and 19lb hammer was what i went with also. Toned down the recoil and DA trigger quite a bit. BTW- I replied to your thread on that other forum also. Yeah, i'm the Z man. Glad you joined up here, just a ton of great info.

CZ-82 Refinish?

Thanks dom for two excellent links which I reviewed and will re-study before I get underway. I now understand the importance of detail stripping the gun versus just a field-strip prior to painting. hf, Always a pleasure to help, if you get stuck anywhere along the way just say the word here or even...

CZ-82 Refinish?

Thank You gents for the kind words. gunny- Not a problem amigo. I actually enjoy your joining in on the topic, asking questions that can only benefit all of us. hangfire- Yeah, you'll need to remove the extractor. Any little bit of dirt or oil inside will mess up your finish. I did a total disassemb...

Was worried about ammo...

Same here at our local Academy. It's decent ammo for the price, kinda dirty though and probably not as accurate as some. I've just never been a big fan of steel cased ammo. Fired a few hundred rounds through my CZ-82 and P-64, and it went bang every time. Plenty good enough for some range fun or jus...

CZ-82 Refinish?

Thanks for the feedback fellas! drifter- That makeshift oven of yours is downright ingenious. I bet it works great for baking out cosmo from the old milsurp stocks, and it also looks long enough to hold a barreled action for a spray on refinish. I may have to come up with a rig like that for my own ...
