Loading with the safety on
Thanks. I will definitely stop doing that. It is good to be retired military in this economy. We are also ahead the crowd in we already have goverment controlled health care and are premium is not pre-tax. I rotate the magazines every couple of months and reload at the same time. So I am probably lu...

Loading with the safety on
??? I always loaded my P-64 and PA-63 with the safety on, but I had some one at the range tell me that this could damage the firing pin. I have a lot of doubt about that, but wanted to ask as I don't want to break a firing pin, but also prefer to have the safety on unless I am read to shoot. I also ...

20# Wolff does NOT fit?
Mine was very hard to get on the first time. It took a lot of patience (slide got stuck to the barrel was hard as heck to get off) and time and I was worried when I had to take the slide of the next but it works fine after you finally get it on. The original spring was like that the first time I cle...

Ammo VS Recoil Spring Q
I use a Wolff 20# recoil spring. I also installed a Hogue Handall Jr. grip. I had a gun smith do the hammer spring so I don't know what it is, but I would say 20# recoil spring and handall jr. are the way to go. I have heard the 22# is hard to put in and I am sure it is difficult to get the slide ba...

recoil info-come on, put in your 2 cents
The handall Jr fits. You need to use a hair dryer or something to heat it up to slip it on. You will be very happy with the results of the grip.

recoil info-come on, put in your 2 cents
I put Hogue handall grips and heavier recoil springs on my P-64 and PA-63. I haven't shot the P-64 yet but it made a tremendous difference in the PA-63. I can't say which made the most difference but I could recommend especially for the PA-63 you make these changes. Total investment for both of thes...

reducing recoil on PA-63
I put a 13# wolfe recoil spring and Hogue handall Jr. on my PA-63 and it makes a lot of difference. It eliminated the sharp pain to the web of my hand and recoil is similar to a 380 now. This is a lot of difference for very little money. It does make it more difficult to put the slide back on but th...

go to www.buymilsurp.com. I have bought several items from them and have had good experiences. They have a lot of parts for combloc weapons.

Holsters for PA-63
I just wanted to let everyone know I just got a Makarov holster and it works well for PA-63s. I got it from buymilsurp.com for 12 dollars plus shipping. It was in very good condition and fit well. The only difference I could tell is the the magazine holder is a little long but still works very well ...

PA-63 and Power Ball ammo
I bought a PA-63 to go with my PA-64. I have ordered a a 13# recoil spring and hogue handall grip. The gun won't feed hollow points so I was considering using Power Ball. I know they are okay in the P-64 but was wondering if they were okay in the alloy frame P-64. Testing the PA-63 at the range it l...

loading and unloading magazines
Thanks, I have 3 magazines and only keep one loaded. I will continue to rotate every few months just because I enjoy loading and loading it. I usually go to the range every few months anyway so that takes care of the rotation.

loading and unloading magazines
I keep my P-64 loaded all the time. I have been rotating magazines every month or so to increase magazine spring life. I was wondering what other members do. I think most modern magazines can remain loaded for years but older military magazines probably can't be. What are do think.

Hornaday bullets
When I say won't chamber. I mean the slide won't totally close. I have never got the slide to go all the way to battery with the hornaday. I did buy these a couple of years ago so they are probably the large bullets or my gun may just not like hollowpoints very well. I may need to shoot some more ro...

Hornaday bullets
I have put a few hundred rounds through it. At first it would jam on the first round on each magazine unless I really racked the slide hard. It now feeds flawlessly on FMJ. It will feed Silver Bear ammo pretty well, the more I feed it the better it likes it. It won't even chamber a Hornaday, no matt...
