Re: Any Mosin Nagant fans?
Great rifle. I own a 1944 and used to own a 1891. Both are excellent guns. The only thing I don't like is the safety, but for the money there is't a better bolt action rifle. Simple, accurate and built like a tank. Have a real nasty bayonnet too.

No problem. A lot of people shoot Brown and Silver Bear. I have shot both. I actually prefer Silver Bear.

Re: Finally bought my first P64
I had a trigger job done on mine when I bought it several years ago and it is definitely worth the cost. I think I paid 60 dollars for it. The pull is not much more than my Ruger P85. Great gun, you just need break it in and find out what it feeds. Some feed everything and some won't feed hollowpoin...

I have a 1972. I have put several hundred rounds maybe even a thousand through it in the 5 years or so. I replaced the recoil and hammer spring because I wanted to. No problems that required anything but cleaning and breaking in. I have to do some deep cleaning and wear in to get it perfect.

Re: p64 need help bad any experts who can help..........
I think that after you clean it thoroughly it will work. Mine jammed just like yours and cleaning and putting rounds through it was the cure. Mine would jam at a 45 degree angle and all of times slide would not go all the way forward and the tigger wouldn't reset so you could pull the trigger and no...

Re: p64 need help bad any experts who can help..........
Check and see if the slide is going all the way back, usually what happens is the slide is about 1/8 inch away from all the way back. This causes the trigger not to reset. The cure as it is with 90% of the problems is you need to do a really, really deep cleaning. I cleaned mine 3 or 4 times. Try th...

Re: I decided NOT to change the springs and why.
I believe that the double action will loosen up a little as you fire the gun. I think that the heavy double action is actually a little bit of a safety. However you carry your gun, you should practice drawing it that way. If you carry without one in the tube, be sure you practice drawing that way. H...

Re: Considering getting a P64 for the wife
I think that a PA-63 stock has a much more painful recoil, in that it punishes the 1st knuckle of the thumb. With a heavier recoil spring and hogue handall grip on both, the PA-63 is more pleasant to shoot. The P-64's European magazine release actually make it more reliable for me. I will accidently...

Re: ball or jhp
I think that since there aren't any spare I would agree with Norm that it might be risky. The P-64 is small it would at least be pretty hard on your hand and no doubt shorten the life of your gun.

Re: ball or jhp
It depends on what feeds well. My P-64 doesn't feed Hornaday (won't even chamber). I use Pow'r Ball or FMJ. A good FMJ like S&B, Winchester or Fio. will definitely get the job done. I think you should experiment and see what will actually feed reliably.

Re: FMJ vs JHP
I think that making sure you ammo will always feed properly and you can hit your target with it are the two major concerns. If you hit center of mass you don't have to be overconcerned with overpenetration and .1 or .2 " in extra hole diamater probably won't matter. Those things become an issue...

Re: PA 63 heavier recoil spring kicks out the clip
I have had some trouble with clip coming partially out when I shoot due to the placement of the magazine release. I put it back in and readjust my grip. I have never had any problem not caused by accidently hitting the magazine release button.

Re: Hornady XTP Reliability
If you have hollowpoint feedig problems, you can try CorBon Pow'r Ball. They feed like FMJ. I think you can actually order them from the manufacture, although I got mine locally from the Armory.
